Board Meeting Minutes
April 10, 2013

welcomed and thanked those in attendance and for their continued support.
Those
in attendance were; Ed, Debbie Gaudlip, Molly Siple, Mary Beth D’Amico,
Lisa
Thorp, Jeannie Morris, and Joan Williamson.
Tarra Kennedy had called and let us know she could not attend.
Negotiations - Ed advised
that at the last meeting with the District Office on March 21st, a
tentative agreement has been made on several items. Two more meetings are scheduled, April 15th,
and May 6th.
Elections - Ballots were
passed out. We still do not have a
Treasurer or Secretary running for office.
Please continue to solicit within your buildings or consider supporting
your new President yourself for this next term.
Both Mary Beth and Joan will support anyone with instruction and help who
would be willing to take on these posts.
All
ballots are to be given to each CHSSA member within each building. Members need to return finished ballot to
building reps absolutely no later than April 25th. Building reps are to mail ballots to Pat
Bishop on that same day at
HOB,
or plan to bring them on May 1st to the Green Turtle at Five Points
at our 4 pm meeting. Food and Beverages
will be available. Ballots will be
counted and finalized at this meeting.
Treasurers
Report
- Our checking account balance is $6,245.00.
Mary Beth advised that there is enough in our meeting fund to cover the
expense of the Green Turtle Meeting on May 1st. All voted to close out our year at the Green
Turtle.
Board Meetings - Mary Beth
will be attending the April 25th meeting and will report back in
May.
Calendar Draft
#2
- School year calendar draft #2 for next year was reviewed. All present agreed that the extended winter
break was not needed and would prefer to return to school on January 2nd. They also agreed that any professional
development days that need to be added would be better served to have them in
August as opposed to June when our school year is done. In addition, all still agreed that the four
day weekend in February for Para’s was preferred. Ed and

Joan
advised that they also were able to canvas several professional as well as
support staff in the last 2 days and the majority do not favor the extended break
nor the extended days in June. Ed will
contact C. Petitgout with our requests.
Peggy Kirby - Ed advised
that Peggy is in Intensive Care at Christiana Hospital. Her children are with her. There is no new information. Neither visitors nor flowers are allowed in
intensive care. A card was signed and
will be mailed.
For the good of
the cause
- Mary Beth advised that Susan Krause will return to work April 22nd. Yea Susan - welcome back!
Our
next meeting will be May 1st, 4pm, Green Turtle in Lewes at Five
Points.

volunteering your time. Also, do not
write in any member unless you get their permission first. All officers must be active members.
Both
the new Secretary and Treasurer will be given plenty of help from the 2
outgoing officers.
