Negotiations - CHSSA will meet again with the District Office on May 6th.  So far the DO is offering increase in pay of 1%, 1%, and 2% - with a 3 year contract.  The DO has explained that these increase amounts must be adhered to so that we can keep our benefits intact. Winter break will still be discussed, especially since the DO extended it.  Our contract expired June 30th, 2012.  A new contract will be retroactive to that date.

Calendar - There is a copy attached to the minutes and will be posted on our web site.  www.capehenlopenssa.org.  Changes made to the calendar are:  August 26th First Para Work Day, Last work day June 16th.  Winter break has been extended, it will begin on December 23rd and we will not return to work until Monday January 6th.  Para’s will have a four day weekend in February, 14th thru the 17th.

Treasurers Report - Total cash and bank accounts $23,445.42.  Mary Beth advised that she has only had one request for scholarship and that will not have to be presented at Awards night at Cape.  The student is attending Sussex Technical.

Shirts - Mary Beth advised that the order was placed April 15th.  She is not sure of our delivery date.

Board Meeting - Mary Beth advised that the DO has given permission for the Italian teacher to investigate a trip to Italy.  Once all info is rec’vd, they will make a final decision.
Bob Fulton presented a plan to address the racial and socio economic differences in Milton.  He suggested that HOB become a K-2 school, and MES become a 3-5th grade school.  This will not be implemented this coming school year, but will be discussed in town hall meetings this spring.  It was also discovered, that only 20 students have “choiced” out of HOB this school year.
