Board Meeting Minutes

Tim
welcomed and thanked those in attendance and for their continued support.
Those
in attendance were; Tim, Lisa Thorp, Sharon Sherwood, Tara Kennedy, Susan
Krause, Kathy Law, Jeannie Morris, Joan Williamson and Joe Kirk (DSEA)
Negotiations – Tim turned
this over to Joe Kirk. Joe said he and Tim would set up an appointment to meet
with Kathy Petitgout. Joe explained to the committee, how the negotiation team
fought hard to keep the current benefits.
Treasurers
Report
– Sharon reported there were no new transactions since the Wednesday August 28,
2013 meeting.
Board Meetings -Tim reported
that he attended the July 11th Board meeting at the Cape High School
and August 22nd Board meeting at the Beacon Middle School. At the
July meeting the main points of discussion were on the Bible Literacy Program
and Tom Pederson wanted a lower rate for gym rental. At the August meeting, the
Board discussed School Choice. The Board heard from 2 sets of parent’s about
keeping their children in Cape District.
Kathy Petitgout gave a report on units counts = 388.66, down 6 units. Mr.
Bassett commented on the appraisal progress of the four parcels of land for the
new school. Mr. Bassett also presented a Faculty Building Usage change.

Still
looking for an energetic person to fulfill the position of Secretary.
Discussion
and a committee was formed for the ESP dinner in November. Details will be later.
Discussion
was also made on holding a staff support meeting for ‘all’ staff support
personnel. This would be a meeting on the benefits of being a staff support
association member. Planning will be
discussed at the October meeting.
Our
next meeting will be October 3rd, 4pm, Cape Henlopen High School.
