- Kevin Eitner, Beacon MS Custodian – Paul Tregoe, SEC Job Coach - Roger Boyd,

was unable to attend but had passed on information.
Delaware
is one of 6 states with increased union enrollment. DSEA advised that we can no longer endorse
early enrollment. If a member signs on
in the spring during the early enrollment period, their membership is not
activated until the beginning of the following school year in September. Therefore, they are also not receiving any of
the benefits of membership and cannot have legal counsel if it is needed.
Treasurers
Report
– Net Worth report dated 12/31/11 shows total assets at $21,900.
New Shirts – Mary Beth is
still seeking volunteers to be responsible for the “fit line” that will be sent
to each school. This member will be
responsible to have each member try and choose a shirt (if they want one). We still need volunteers from Shields,
Rehoboth Elem, MMS, and CHHS. Thank you.
For the good of
the cause: It
was brought to the Board’s attention that custodians who have applied for a
custodial position in another building were not granted the transfer, and in
fact, the position (s) have been filled with people from the outside.
What
is being done about not honoring seniority?
The
next meeting will be at Beacon Middle School at 4pm. Minutes respectfully submitted by Joan
Williamson.
